I am Ishan Parmar, a high schooler at Newark Academy. Learning about my heritage was an emotional journey that inspired me to take action.

So I created the Global Dalit Development Organization to bring awareness and connect others with opportunities for improvement. I hope that in the future I can aid in the battle against caste discrimination and leave an indelible mark on society for the better

Mission Statement

My name is Ishan Parmar. I founded the Global Dalit Development Organization to raise awareness of the atrocities faced by South Asian Dalits. My goal is to empower the younger generation to stand up for what is right and provide a voice to the voiceless. Across South Asia, millions are subjected to manual scavenging, a dangerous practice that results in hundreds of deaths each year.
